For the price, it’s pretty nice

I bought this guitar back in July sometime and been playing for the past few months. As a left handed player finding a left handed guitar was hard as it is. So when I found Lyxpro makes a knockoff JP in a left handed version, in sunburst, I was excited. Overall this guitar is nice for the price, but it’s not perfect. Let’s jump into it

The good:
Idk how they make this thing and sell it for $219 bucks. The body alone is worth that much in any other guitar and mine has no orange peel or no major clear coat defects or anything wrong with the body. This guitar is totally playable out of the box. This guitar is perfect for anyone wanting to try a Les Paul, someone getting back into playing guitar after a couple year hiatus (myself) or someone that wants a workhorse and doesn’t care if it gets banged up overtime. For me this guitar fits short term and long terms needs and will likely always have a purpose in my rack. But with that said let’s get into the bad

The bad:
Shipping if you buy from Amazon ask to have it put in another box if the option is still there. I did and luckily I did because the box it comes in is cheap. It wouldn’t take much to puncture it or damage your guitar in shipping. Luckily nothing happened to mine and mine arrived okay.

The hardware on this thing is ehhhhh. For $219 bucks they had to make cuts somewhere and it’s clearly in the hardware. The strings that come with it are trash. If you buy one at the very minimal cut the ones that come with it off and put on some Earnie Balls at minimum or whatever your favorite strings are. Luckily tho the rest of the hardware is good for home practice or small casual (no pressure) gigs. But if you gig seriously and need something with 100% reliability I would upgrade the tuners and humbuckers to start.

Which leads into my next point is this guitar makes a beautiful modding platform. I wish I could upload photos cause this weekend I just put new hardware on mine (Wilkinson M Series V humbuckers, some black trim, and Guyker locking tuners) and holy hell she looks beautiful and sounds beautiful too. For only $80 bucks in parts I now have a truly gig worthy axe for around $300 bucks… I copied a sunburst Gibson with blacked out trim that sells for $2,500 and mine darn near looks the Same and probably sounds close to the same but for like 1/9th the price? The beautiful thing about it you can make those changes to the hardware when you are ready. This guitar is perfectly playable as is and when you’re ready to start tinkering and making it your own you can do it at your own pace. I at some point want to throw CTS pots in and do copper shielding on the inside and clean up the soldering. but right now I am ecstatic as she is and can’t wait to show her off now that I am doing lite gigging

Overall:

If you need a workhorse, want something to mod, want to try a Les Paul for the first time, or need a low cost instrument to try guitar for the first time. This is a beautiful contender worthy of your attention. Also if you go to Amazon and have prime god forbid if you hate this guitar you have 30 days to send it back no hassle. Which is unheard of when you buy a guitar online. You literally have nothing to lose trying this guitar

MY BLACK BEAUTY

I have a black copy Gibson LP guitar, made in 1972 by the Ibanez factory. In 1982 I replaced the pickups with a diMarzio single coil and dual sound, and the toggle switch with a Fender one. At that time I also restored all the chrome on it. It was originally black and gold, but now it is black and silver. It is preserved to the maximum, and I only pick it up on special occasions. She is beautiful and will go to the grave with me.
